Hi. I’m Sarah.
And I learned Spanish as an adult. It was my first experience with foreign language and it opened up doors all over the globe for me.

I totally get it. I was in your shoes. I desperately wanted to learn another language, but I thought that I was past my “prime” and I’d have to settle for just rudimentary greetings and phrases.
Also, I was BUSY.
As in, working three jobs busy.
But I worked at it. I squeezed it in where I could. I studied Spanish, but because I needed to be really efficient about my study time, I also studied how the ADULT brain works. I wasn’t a kid anymore (and neither are you) so there was no use in presuming I could learn “like a child”.
I didn’t have time for anything that wasn’t effective.
Six months later, I was remarkably fluent in Spanish. I had even perfected a Mexican accent.
I say “remarkable” because as soon as I felt my Spanish was good enough, I started looking for jobs overseas. Interviewers could not believe how good my Spanish was and that I had learned it in just six months.
And it paid off. I got offered a crazy good job in Mexico complete with a paid-for three bedroom apartment, a car, and extensive travel all over Latin America. Not too shabby!
And you know what’s really crazy? I wasn’t even really qualified for the job. I was missing over 1/3 of the job requirements. But I happened to be the candidate with the best combination of English and Spanish. When the interview board heard that I had taught myself the language, they knew I had tenacity.
When people find out that you learned another language as an adult, I promise you they’ll look at you with the same level of admiration.

Being able to type specialized characters in Spanish like the accent mark and the “ñ” is going to become essential for you. I show you the best way to do it without breaking stride while you type (and no, it’s not command keys).
